Dead Man’s Chest was simply superb. Highly recommended. Two thumbs up.

It was a good mix of nicely done pirate slapstick and a very clever storyline to boot. It was entertaining all the way to the end. Of course, having your wife next to you to explain the twists and turns in the plot when you’ve got lost is simply advantageous. To me, behind the comedic antics, the story boils down to the fight between love, greed and urgency. To top it off, the climactic and, at the same time, cliff-hanger ending made us wanting to see the third installment. Now!

Dead Man’s Chest deserves its first three-day records. Now, the rather boring and disappointing Superman Returns we watched two weeks back was a different story altogether. I guess you cannot always have your cake and eat it too.
